Aux Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois, édition 2010, j'accompagne le dj Andy Williams pour l'évènement du jeudi le 18 février en faisant du VJing "vintage" avec de l'équipment vidéo qui date de la même époque que les incontournbables tables tournantes Technics 1200, c'est-à-dire une paire de Umatic 3/4" BVU-200 et un contrôleur BVE-500, full broadcast 1975!! Si vous avez plus de 30 ans, vous allez rire parce que vous vous en souvenez - et si vous avez moins de 30 ans vous allez rire parce que ça s'peut pas d'avoir eu à faire du montage comme ça. In a move emulating the vintageness of vinyl applied to video, I'll be, um, "VJing" for Andy Williams at the Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois with editing equipment just as old as the classic Technics 1200 turntables he'll be using. Depending on your age and experience, you'll either laugh with me or at me... photos here.

Les Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois, qui se déroulent à Montréal du 14 au 24 février, présentent trois films auxquels j'ai participé:

a soft place to fall, dans la section art et expérimentation, de Marlene Millar et Philip Szporer, où j'ai fait la direction photo, Esprits de Famille, un documentaire de Lysanne Thibodeau: un de deux directeurs photo, et Je fonds en comble, une collaboration avec Justine Ricard, où j'ai été co-réalisateur, scénariste et directeur photo.

Mes très chers amis, les brillants et talentueux Ève Meilleur et Dominic Desjardins, ont participé à la série télévisée Fais ça court à Télé-Québec. Une partie de leur travail, suivi par les caméras de l'émission, a été fait aux locaux d'Ewola Cinéma, de même que leur vidéo de présentation. Ils ont fini grands gagnants de la premiére saison.
Je fonds en comble, a collaboration between myself and Justine Ricard, is a bilingual five-minute dance/fiction film will be premiereing in Les Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois , Thursday the 21st of February. Esprits de Famille, le dernier film de Lysanne Thibodeau, aux Productions les Films de l'Autre, a été sélectionné pour le Festival des Films du Monde. J'étais un de deux directeurs photo, ayant tourné les séquences à Montréal.
Alice , a five-minute short film I co-directed with Dominic Desjardins, Eric Grice, Eve Meilleur, Kim Baillargeon and Brigitte Henry, won the Main Film prize at the 2006 2880 Film Blitz competition. Made with the support of Moment Factory.
a soft place to fall , a dance film I shot for Marlene Millar and Philip Szporer of Mouvement Perpétuel, was selected for Toronto's Moving Pictures Festival and Montreal's Festival des film sur L'Art.

Santa Baby, a short film I shot for writer/director David Widdicombe and producer Robert Richardson of Marquis Entertainment, premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival, was nominated for 7 Golden Sheaf Awards at Yorkton and won Best Comedy at the 2006 L.A. Shorts Fest.

The Hunt , a dance film I edited for Marlene Millar and Philip Szporer of Mouvement Perpétuel, was selected for the opening night of Toronto's Moving Pictures Festival and has toured extensively.
Le Facteur Chance , a six-minute short film I co-directed with Jean-Marc Abela, Maryse Legagneur, Dominic Desjardins, Julie Daubié and Eric Grice, took top honours (best film & audience award) at the 2005 2880 Film Blitz competition. It was picked up for web broadcast by Silence on court and was rated "mieux coté" for over two months. Made with the support of Moment Factory.
